Well, I had planned on sharing with you today the treasury I created yesterday afternoon (my first one!). Then this morning I logged into Etsy to discover that my Irish Cream lip balm has been included in someone else's treasury (yay!).

Abstract Landscape Inspiration Treasury - My Irish Cream lip balm is here.
Upcycled Blues Treasury - I featured EtsyVeg and Etsy Fort Worth teammates here (including this lovely cameo necklace from silentlotus), come check it out!

Friday Five

This afternoon we're taking a bunch of old electronic things that Ben had stored in our computer room to the electronic recycling center in Fort Worth. So just for Ben, here's a geekery-themed Friday Five. :)

From fellow Etsy Fort Worth teammate Casey's Clutter, Googly Eyes Ring, $7.50
From Cherry Laurel Designs, I Said MEH glow in the dark binary beanie, $35.00

I realized this morning that I'll miss having fresh blueberries on my Kashi cereal after blueberry season is over. Yes, I know I could buy frozen berries, or buy a bunch of fresh now and freeze them, but it's just not quite the same. Oh, blueberry, how I love you.

From Erin Reynolds Photography, Blueberries Kitchen Art - Fine Art Photograph (8x8), $24.00

From Magic Hands Workshop, Blueberry Sea Salt Bar, $5.50
From Etsy Fort Worth teammate Fitzy Sparrow, Blueberry Estate vintage lucite charm earrings, $14.00

Sunday Spotlight

Are you looking for the Bohemian Rose giveaway? Click here!

I'm currently included in a great Fruit Salad Treasury on Etsy, along with other talented Etsy Fort Worth artisans. I'm also featured in a great Old Fashioned Treasury with some talented EtsyVeg artisans. Come take a look!

Today's Sunday Spotlight is a bit different. Instead of spotlighting a handmade artisan's shop, I'd like you to take a look at another blog... A Fanatic's Book Blog actually. Jessica posts great book reviews and book giveaways. Definitely browse through her blog. I know every time I do, I have more books to add to my Amazon wish list!

Currently Jessica's blog is co-hosting the 2010 Summer Beach Reads Challenge. It's easy peasy to sign up for the challenge, and the giveaway prizes at the end of the challenge are a cute crochet buddy, Mr. Octavio the Octopus, and a copy of Low Red Moon.

Now, I had just recently started reading Mists of Avalon, which so far is good, although I'm really not that far yet... But to me it doesn't fit the description of "beach read" so I'm going to postpone this one. I've been told that it's a great book, so I'll definitely come back to it, but I'll start with some "beach reads" first. Vampire books and paranormal romance, here I come!

Keeping in mind that I'm still de-cluttering the house, and next week am actually starting on the dreaded office, which will soon be the baby's room so everything has to go out of it, I don't think I'll reach the level of Shark in the challenge. I think I'll aim for Minnow. I know, sounds like I'm not aiming high, but Minnow is 8 books read by August 31. Considering all the stuff I've got to get done around the house between now and then, I'd say Minnow is a good goal for me. :)

Friday Five

Today seems to be a cloudy, gloomy day, with scattered rain and storms. So today's Friday Five is all about rain. Enjoy!

Let's start with a fellow Etsy Veg teammate, 3 Am Art - Dark Stormy Skies Looming Overhead, $20.00
I love doggie raincoats, but my own pup would never wear one. Like Ben says, he barely tolerates his collar. :) Acme Couture - Wet Look Dog Raincoat with Hood, custom made, $25.00
Space Oddities - El Paraguas Pocket Mirror, $7.00
MichelleDigital - Aqua Rain, $36.00
And finally, perhaps the most unique rain-themed item I came across this morning. ClayZ - RainDrop Ocarina Trio, $145.00

Friday Five

We stopped on our way home this afternoon to pick up a frozen custard for me from Sheridan's. Today I had their Wedding Cake concrete. Wedding cake and icing mixed in with some vanilla frozen custard. Yum! So in the spirit of frozen custard (or ice cream, for that matter), here is today's Friday Five!

Mallow Ice Cream Sauce, Many Flavors - Amy's Sweet Dream ($5.00)

Strawberry Pineapple Ice Cream Topping - Biscotti Queen ($6.00)

Cotton Play Food - Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Cone - Fair Trade Family ($5.00)
Scoop Ring - Casey's Creations ($7.50)
Nom Nom Nom - Limited Edition Print - Sir Mitchell ($50.00)

Sunday Spotlight

Today's Sunday Spotlight is another Etsy Veg teammate, Panda with Cookie! She makes plush monsters, garland, tote bags, and more, all from her own patterns.

Let's start with one of her adorable plush monsters. She has many to choose from, but one of my favorites is the Pirate Monster in bright purple fleece. Panda's monsters come in different sizes, but this particular pirate monster (yaaar!) is 13"x14" so he would also make a comfy pillow. And, since all of her monsters have hand-sewn faces, no two are ever exactly alike! (Purple Monster in Bright Purple Fleece, $25.00)

Continuing with the pirate theme, our next item is a Tofu Pirate Patch apron (yaaar!). This apron is not only cute and stylish, but is upcycled from a pair of curtains, so the fabric is thick and durable. The apron ties are 25" long, which is great for someone like me (whose currant apron won't continue to close around me in a few months...). (Tan Cotton Apron with Tofu Pirate Patch, $20.00)

Panda has many items in your shop that are sure to make you smile, including her Where's My Burrito pin. (Where's My Burrito One Inch Pin, $1.25)

Sunday Spotlight Update

Last Sunday I featured EtsyVeg teammate Miss Munchie in my Sunday Spotlight. Well after a lot of thought (and mouth watering) I eventually decided on a variety pack to share with my mom. Small pretzel loaf, baker's dozen of nuggets, and a batch of cookies. A wonderful bit of everything. My mom and I decided on the garlic topping for the loaf, and let me tell you that when I opened the box up yesterday after school, all I could smell was garlicky goodness. Oh, my.

Since I couldn't decide on just one flavor of nugget, I ended up buying an extra baker's dozen so I could try two flavors -- Cinnamon Raisin, and Everything. A few of the Cinnamon Raisin nuggets made a great breakfast heated up this morning. Everything bagels are my favorite flavor, and will make a great after school snack.

Oh, and I can't forget the Peanut Butter 'n' White Chocolate cookies. Yummy! Our package even included a sample of bite sized Chocolate Chipsters. I felt so spoiled. :)

Not only is everything delicious, the packaging tags are so cute too. One of my favorite purchases, and I'll definitely come back to buy again in the future.

Sunday Spotlight

Ah, Sunday. The most relaxing (and chore-ful) day of the week. I mean really, it's hard to get excited about laundry day. But you *can* get excited about today's Sunday Spotlight. It's Miss Munchie, a fellow Etsy Veg teammate. Miss Munchie makes delicious-looking pretzel bread goodies, along with some enticing cookies. Yum!

Not sure which flavor of pretzel bread to try? Then you could start out with a baker's dozen of pretzel nuggets. Pick your topping, like The Original (with sea salt), Garlic, Cinnamon Sugar, or Chocolate Chip (stuffed with chocolate chips, topped with sea salt). They all sound so good, I'm having a hard time deciding which flavor to try first. (The Original Baker's Dozen, $10.00)

More interested in making sandwiches with your pretzel bread than snacking on it? Then you can order an entire loaf of pretzel bread with your choice of yummy topping. The sandwich bread listing is for a rectangular pretzel loaf topped with sea salt, but if you'd like a different topping, just take a look at the topping choices at the bottom of the listing, and include it in your notes to seller. (Sandwich Pretzel Bread, 1 loaf, $12.00)

In a snacky mood, but craving something sweet instead of salty? Miss Munchie has got you covered. She offers a variety of cookie selections, but the one that caught my eye is her Peanut Butter 'n' White Chocolate. Normally I don't go for chocolate cookies, but chocolate and peanut butter are one of my favorite flavor combinations, and the photograph is making my mouth water. Chocolate cookie, Reese's peanut butter chips, Nestle white chocolate chips. Oh, my. (Peanut Butter 'n' White Chocolate, 1 batch, $20.00)

I've Been Featured!

Grevious Angel Designs has included me in a wonderful Celtic treasury. Take a look at all of the Celtic-inspired items, including my own Irish Tweed Soap. Hurry though, the treasury will end Friday morning!

I'm also a spotlight in the Etsy Veg Team blog sidebar. Yay!

In other news, it's snowing here in DFW. Usually we don't get much snow, but I think this is our third snow/ice since November. Crazy! But it's been snowing since sometime during the night, and we have quite a bit of accumulation. I'm hoping to take a picture when I get home. It's beautiful outside!

Etsy Veg Team Rocks!

This week I've been making my To Do list for this Saturday's festival (and checking it twice, don'tcha know). Meanwhile, I received a nice message from Kylie, fellow Etsy Veg teammate, letting me know that my Cuticle Balm was included in a treasury on the Etsy Veg blog. Definitely check it out, Etsy Veg-ers make some fabulous products!

Friday Feature

Today's Friday Feature is Laura Bucci!

Not only is she a member of the EtsyVeg Team, but her handmade wallets, pouches, and cup cozies are wonderful! I recently bought a flat pouch and cup cozy, and they are lovely. (Laura currently has a special -- if you buy a flat pouch and cup cozy, you save $3.00!)

The flat pouches are great little clutches -- the perfect size to toss in my phone, car key, and flat wallet thing, along with a lip balm or two. And with so many great fabrics to choose from, you can't go wrong! I love retro-looking fabric, so it's not really a surprise that I bought Laura's Pink Garden Maze flat pouch. The pouch is stiff enough to hold its shape, and feels durable. (Pink Garden Maze Flat Pouch, $26.00)

Laura has a wide selection of cup cozies, but my personal favorites are the Save Our Planet cozies. Not only will they protect your hands from a hot paper cup, but they're also stylish with their "green" message. Laura offers three different Save Our Planet styles, so you can pick your favorite at checkout! (Save Our Planet Eco Cup Cozy, $12.00)

Thank you, La Vieja Tun Tun, for including my Relaxation soap in your treasury!

Friday Feature

Welcome to my weekly Friday Feature! Tonight I'm featuring another member of the Etsyveg Team, strawhousebooks, who specializes in handbound journals, albums, and memory boxes. The fabric she uses is chosen by its animal-friendly properties. Yay!

I have a weakness for anything paisley, so here is her Paisley Hand Bound Journal. Not only is the outside pretty in paisley, but the inside pages are beautiful too. Enjoy!

Friday Feature

Be sure to stop by the EtsyVeg Team blog. Not only will you see my sugar scrub included in the team treasury, but you can take a look at all of the other gorgeous items there. And trust me, they are beautiful!

For today's regular installment of Friday Feature, I would like to present intergalacticrose! She's a member of the EtsyVeg Team, and all of her products are completely vegan.

Isn't this custom-designed faerie skirt cute? Let her know what colors you want on it, and your measurements, and she'll sew you up your own customized skirt. This beautiful skirt has a drawstring waist, which I personally am a fan of on skirts!

Who doesn't love an Ewok? I know I do! This appliqued hoodie reminds me of a shih-tsu I knew once. His fur was always trimmed short, and his little face looked just like Wicket. Of course, that was his name too. :)

Check Out My indiepublic Page

I've jumped on the bandwagon and I now have a page over at indiepublic. The EtsyVeg team started a page, so I decided to join and support my fellow teammates! Go on over to take a look at my page, and the EtsyVeg team page. There are definitely a lot of pictures of handmade goodies over there!

Also, if you happen to take a glance at the right hand side of the screen, you'll see that Bohemian Rose is one of the featured sellers. (Woot!) Thanks, Panda!

leandogpottery

Before you read, let me just say that I love rings. It doesn't matter what kind of rings, really. In fact, I'd go so far as to say I enjoy looking at pictures of rings almost as much as I enjoy looking at pictures of soap. *gasp* I know! Shocking!

Anyway, I was browsing through some of the EtsyVeg Team members' shops and came across leandogpottery. She has bunches of beautiful items, so definitely take a glance through her shop. :)
